This collage work connects fragments of different eras, bodies, cultures, and textures, demonstrating that the existence of "self" is not a single entity but rather composed of overlapping countless visual information and social symbols.
Within the work, seemingly unrelated elements coexist: monochrome figures, a striking red object, fingertips, legs, books, patterns, and fashion images. However, each fragment, while clashing, creates new relationships on a single screen, prompting the viewer to ask, "Whose body is this?" and "What is the essence, and what is the surface?" The central red object can be interpreted as a symbol of emotion, desire, or inner impulse, while the surrounding gazes and fragments of bodies suggest that contemporary self-formation is intricately woven from the images, cultures, and memories of others.
In short, this work is an attempt to reflect the complexity of the modern self and society through the accumulation of fragmented images, and the collage technique itself is an artistic practice for "deconstructing the world and reassembling it from one's own perspective."
